FUNNYMAN Mikey Robins (left) reckons he would die a disorganised man if it wasn't for his wife.
The former Novocastrian described his Laura as a real "work ant" saying she had their wills and bank accounts sorted even before they were married.Robins will be in town on October 14 for a live debate as part of Good Will Week.He will join some of Newcastle's well known personalities including Su Cruickshank, John Paul Young and newsreader John Church to discuss whether people should plan for their futures by making wills or live more spontaneously."I want to see as many of my old Newcastle mates in the audience as possible," he said. "Entry is free so I'll shout you all in. If you don't make it, don't forget I know where you all live."Robins's core group of friends, including Steve Abbott aka Sandman and Tony Squires, have been around since his Newcastle Uni days and he still sees them at least twice a week.Robins has been keeping busy writing a non-fiction book, working on at least three pilot TV programs and touring with Abbott and Paul McDermott with their Rat Pack-style show. Then there's the driving lessons he has been squeezing in so he can "one day" get his P-plates.He said he's now gone to professional teachers after his wife threw the towel in.Good Will Week is a community education program sponsored by Public Trustee NSW to encourage people to make or update their will.To attend the live debate at Newcastle Town Hall on Thursday, October 14, at 7pm call (02) 9240 0797.
